Ground floor redesign and rebuild of Penthouse apartment

We were asked to look at what would be possible in in this split level apartment near Pontefract, West Yorkshire. The client has bought the property over 20 years ago which was situated in a large red brick renovation.

He wanted the apartment to work better for his son and himself as the kitchen was completely disconnected from the rest of the living area. It also required extensive modernising, sound proofing and the heating system needed addressing.

The project in the end comprised the following

- Moving the kitchen into the old dining area creating a large kitchen diner and utility room from both rooms.

- Stripping the whole floor and installing a sound proof layer.

- Re-flooring with an engineered oak floor

- Redecorating throughout.

- Replacing the old staircase with new oak newels and spindles

- Building a new kitchen with Nolte units, Corian worktop and Miele appliances.

- Replacing the old storage heaters with new oil filled electric panel heaters.

- Replace the old cloakroom with a modern Villeroy & Boch toilet and sink suite.

- Install a multimedia wiring system.
